Oracle 12c RAC Database Creation Using DBCA

This article explains the step by step procedure to create an Oracle 12c RAC database by using Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA).

Verifying Requirements for DBCA:

1. Please make sure that all cluster nodes are up and running and check the status of cluster.

2. To use Database Configuration Assistant to change the database configuration, use Cluster Verification Utility (CVU) to verify that your system is prepared for configuration changes by using the following command.
$Grid_home/bin/cluvfy stage -pre dbcfg -fixup -n {node_list} -d {Oracle_home_path} -verbose

3. The above command will verify the Node Reachability, User Equivalence, Node Connectivity, Administrative Privileges and Oracle Clusterware Integrity. If the summary indicates that the cluster verification check fails, then review and correct the relevant system configurations, and run it again.

Creating Database with DBCA:
